Concept
Decision information
You might say: what I know before choosing
Decision information is the evidence available before commitment, including the current state, known rules and clues about other players. Uncertainty can be intentional; missing rule explanations are a different problem.
- What it does
- Makes choices reasoned bets rather than guesses with no learnable basis.
- Ask
- What can the player know, infer or deliberately discover before acting?
Parts
- Information visibility: Visibility rules determine which relevant facts are public, privately known, hinted at or hidden.
- Prediction depth: Prediction depth is how many linked effects the player must mentally simulate to compare actions.
Connections

What is the most important piece of information the player needs right now?
Use it on your project
teardown-apply: hold "Decision information" (choice-information) from the teardown at https://teardownatlas.com/game-design/ against my project
Paste it into a coding agent that has the teardown skills.
